Utah Pacific Bridge & Steel is seeking a Swing Shift AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Inspect welds and fabricated steel for code and drawing compliance
- Verify weld procedure requirements and welder qualifications
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols
- Document defects, nonconforming work, and completed repairs
- Maintain inspection and quality-control records
- Work with welders, fitters, supervisors, and outside inspectors to resolve quality issues
Qualifications
- Current AWS CWI certification required
- Level II Certifications in ultrasonic and magnetic particle testing a plus
- Structural steel welding inspection experience
- Knowledge of AWS D1.1
- Ability to read structural steel drawings and welding symbols
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Experience with AWS D1.5 Bridge Welding Code preferred
- Bridge fabrication or AISC-certified shop experience preferred
- Industrial coatings application inspection is a plus
