RE Closer/Funder II

You’ll manage the closing and funding process for mortgage loans that have been cleared to close. This includes verifying loan information, issuing the Initial Closing Disclosure, preparing and delivering closing documents to borrowers and settlement agents, and preparing each file for funding.

After documents are signed, you’ll coordinate with the title company to obtain the complete closing package, review executed legal documents for accuracy, confirm all underwriting conditions have been satisfied, and wire funds to escrow companies. You’ll also assist members throughout the process or connect them with the appropriate resource when needed.

You have an associate degree or an equivalent combination of formal mortgage industry training and experience, along with three to five years of related mortgage experience. You’re proficient in closing and funding government, construction, and conventional loans and have a strong understanding of mortgage requirements, procedures, underwriting criteria, and applicable regulations.

You’re well organized, detail-oriented, and able to learn quickly, meet deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure. You bring excellent verbal, written, and member service skills, proficiency with computer applications and standard business equipment, a working knowledge of basic math, and the ability to analyze and process financial information accurately.

Success means closing and funding each mortgage loan accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with UCCU policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. You’ll ensure fees, credits, and liabilities are balanced; Closing Disclosures and closing documents are complete and accurate; executed packages satisfy all prior-to-fund conditions; and wire amounts are calculated, approved within your authority, requested, and reconciled correctly. You’ll also register applicable transactions through MERS and maintain timely, accurate, and current loan files and records.

You’ll keep loan officers, processors, escrow companies, and other partners informed throughout the process while working with third-party vendors to obtain required documentation. Questions, discrepancies, funding or purchasing concerns, and post-closing issues are researched and resolved promptly and courteously, with appropriate updates provided to management and other stakeholders. You’ll stay current on procedural and policy changes, communicate updates to the department, and help maintain closing and funding instructions and manuals.

You’ll build strong working relationships with members, mortgage professionals, escrow and title partners, colleagues, and management by communicating professionally, providing dependable support, and representing UCCU positively. You’ll maintain a regular and predictable schedule, attend required meetings, provide coverage for absent team members, keep your work area secure and organized, and assist your manager with projects as needed.
