Director of Marketing
Exempt - Full Time
General Statement of Duties: The Director of Marketing at Utah Cancer Specialists (UCS) is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, administering and overseeing strategic marketing initiatives that enhance UCS’s visibility, support patient acquisition and retention, promote service lines, and strengthen the brand within the community and industry. This role involves leadership in social media, advertising, online presence, public relations, and internal communications – aligning all marketing efforts and resources with UCS’s values, growth plan and overall strategic goals.
Coordinates Internally with: Members of the physician and management teams to ensure cohesive messaging and effective outreach across all channels. In particular, regular coordination with individual Physicians, Office Managers, Patient Advocates, Nurse Managers, and Advance Practice Providers.
Coordinates Externally with: Strategic system partners, referring physicians, freelance designers/photographers (as needed), support agencies and organizations and media as appropriate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Executive Team:
- Develop comprehensive annual marketing budget detailing the costs for marketing efforts
- Report weekly to CEO and physician executive team on progress and issues
- Coordinate with IT as needed to support all digital marketing efforts and requirements
- Partner with Director of Human Resources to plan and implement UCS communications and employee events including all employee meetings, summer party, charity giving, recognition days, retirement parties, holiday parties, etc.
Printed Material:
- Maintain and update all printed materials as needed. This includes updating the company brochure as needed with additional provider names, locations or other information.
- Coordinate communications to introduce new physicians, locations or services.
- Arrange for photography as needed
- Coordinate and proof all printed materials to ensure accuracy prior to printing.
- Orders business cards, prescriptions, letterhead, appointment cards or other business materials as needed.
Electronic Media:
- Create and maintain the UCS website as needed.
- Prepares electronic “mailing lists” of physicians and patients as needed and coordinates all mailings with the mail house.
- Runs specialty reports as requested to prepare communication strategies.
Public/Community Relations:
Establish and cultivate relationships with all constituents of UCS including referring physicians, strategic system partners, charitable organizations, .
- Conducts market research as requested to support strategic initiatives and growth planning.
Events:
- Prepare annual calendar of events to include all community cancer events for all UCS locations, i.e., Komen Race for the Cure, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, ACS Daffodil Days, ACS Gala, Survivors at the Summit, etc. Prepares supportive budget for said events.
- Coordinates all events (communications, materials, staffing etc.) to ensure all events are carried out in a professional manner. Attends all events personally to oversee their professional implementation.
- Coordinate all UCS media activities to include social media, print media, press releases, radio and television activities.
- Coordinate and conduct open house events as requested to introduce UCS people, programs and services.
- Remain attuned to community resource classes and activities. Coordinate these activities with community providers and ensure such activities are communicated to patients or other interested parties.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent verbal/ written communication skills and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and creatively in a team-oriented environment and with the patient and private sector. Detail-oriented, personable and confident. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to professionally represent the company as a spokesperson. Prefer 7 years’ experience in Marketing with heavy emphasis on digital/social.
EDUCATION /TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Marketing, Social Media, Business Management, or other relevant discipline. 7 years of experience in marketing, with at least two years leading teams at a senior level. Experience in healthcare a plus.
