The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in Quantum Information Science and Engineering (QISE), with the tentative start date in Fall of 2026. We are seeking an outstanding tenure-track Assistant Professor with a potential to be a world-class leader in the strategic QISE growth area, with a preferred emphasis on either:1. Quantum information theory, quantum computing algorithms/architectures, applications of quantum computing; or2. Quantum photonic integrated circuits.Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline appropriate to the QISE research focus. The appointment will be in the Department of Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering (CoE). Applicants must show exceptional promise for high-quality research, teaching, professional development, and the ability to build extramurally funded research programs. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives.
