5 years related supervisory experience in an ophthalmic medical office environment
Licenses and Certifications
(COA) CERT OPHTHALMIC ASSISTANT is required by JACHPO
JOB DUTIES
Complete a weekly tech schedule and adjust accordingly based on provider changes; maintain an accurate schedule that changes considerably during the day.
Approve time off while maintaining adequate staffing levels; monitor appropriate staffing levels per physician and patient levels in advance.
Order and maintain supplies at appropriate PAR levels; order medication and monitor supplies for expiration dates.
Perform audits on staff skill sets as well as electronic medical records; medication entry, and telephone return calls; must also perform audits on department equipment monthly.
Provides overall technical guidance and supports the ophthalmic tech staff in all sub specialties.
Assist technical staff in training on A/B scans, laser and visual fields.
Interview, train, coach and discipline accordingly for a staff of 21 Techs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
