What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infectious Diseases Assistant Professor position at UT Southwestern Medical Center?
The primary roles and responsibilities for new faculty will be to provide patient care at the General Infectious Diseases and Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT) Clinic and at the Moody HIV Clinic at Parkland, expansion of the current inpatient consult services, and establishment of a new general ID inpatient consult service. Other duties can include sharing attending duties on both General Internal Medicine wards. Participation in the teaching and training of medical students, house staff, and residents is also expected. The interests of the applicant and the needs of the division will determine the exact distribution of responsibilities for an individual faculty member.
Applicants must have an M.D. degree, or equivalent, from an approved LCME medical school, and have satisfactorily completed an Internal Medicine residency program, and an Infectious Diseases fellowship program, from an ACGME accredited program. Candidates must be eligible for Texas medical licensure and be board-certified in Internal Medicine and board-certified/eligible in Infectious Diseases.
