What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infrastructure Server Engineer position at UT Medical Center?
As a Server Engineer, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and solving issues that arise with the UTMC infrastructure environment! The ideal candidate will be responsible for configuring, integrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting our data center and cloud infrastructure, encompassing both on-premises and cloud setups. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys tackling challenges and has a solid understanding of systems, while openly presenting diverse solutions.
The Server Engineer’s primary responsibilities
- configure, troubleshoot and maintain servers OS/Hardware Windows 2016-2025 and Linux
- Monitoring of system resources, patching, maintaining system backups, conducting regular restores.
- Install, manage, troubleshoot, and maintain our Hybrid Active Directory (On Premise and Azure AD)
- Support and troubleshoot 365 environment.
- VMWare, Citrix and proprietary medical equipment infrastructure.
- Monitor, manage and troubleshoot legacy Storage Area Networks (SAN) both ISCSI and Fiber Channel and Private Cloud (VXRails/VCF) infrastructure.
- Create and deploy new infrastructures, based on specific project scoped by a technical review committee.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in servers, VMware, Citrix, storage, and backup solutions. A strong desire to have a forward-thinking mind and an astute aptitude for documenting project scopes, installations, and maintenance of all systems. With a collaborative mentality to bring solutions to several different cross-functional teams. Adhering to change management and ticket SLA’s.
