Supervises the technical activities of a histology laboratory and provides direction to laboratory technicians.
Responsibilities
Eight (8) years of histological experience, including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity is required.

Responsibilities
- Manages technical histology services, training technicians and staff, to maintain an efficient laboratory environment.
- Researches and develops new procedures to ensure quality control and efficiency of operation for the histology laboratory.
- Manages inventory and maintenance of supplies throughout the laboratory.
- Oversees the maintenance of processors, strainers, cover slipper, decal station, lab chemicals and dyes, and bio-hazard waste.
- Assist pathologists and researchers with clinical cases and projects.
- Performs quality control and quality assurance on a daily basis for clinical and research cases before they are sent out to researchers or Pathologists.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Experience managing histology services in a clinical or laboratory setting.
- Experience using automated equipment and instruments including microscopes, microtomes, and other lab equipment.
- Recent experience working with a wide variety of tissues in a laboratory or clinical setting.
- Ability to maintain strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information.
- Ability to collaborate and gain cooperation in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
