Job Description:
Hiring for Histotechnician PRN
Requirements:
- Certified HT(ASCP) required
- A minimum of (2) years experience working in an anatomic pathology laboratory
- Dermatology histology experience preferred
- High Complexity Technician qualification preferred
- IHC-Q preferred
- Must be able to work independently
- Attention to detail is crucial to this position
- Completion of all necessary coursework and training to be a practicing Histotechnician
Performances:
- Prepares histologic slides, performs special stains from tissue sections obtained for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists. Experience in immunohistochemistry.
- Responsible for all aspects of histology lab operations:
- Maintains all records regarding samples received and processed
- Maintains permanent histology blocks
- Maintains adequate inventory of chemicals and other supplies
- Ensures maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Prepares standard solutions and washes/cleans laboratory containers and equipment as required.
