Duties
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and other commercial driving equipment, to transport packages along designated routes.
- Load and unload shipments efficiently using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling techniques to ensure proper package handling.
- Deliver parcels directly to customers’ doorsteps or designated drop-off points with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist with route planning and navigation to optimize delivery efficiency while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive delivery experience.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation throughout the shift.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and safety records in compliance with company policies.
Experience
- Prior experience in customer service or courier roles is highly desirable.
- Hands-on warehouse experience or familiarity with loading/unloading procedures enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Commercial driving experience with a valid driver’s license, especially involving box trucks or similar vehicles, is preferred.
- Knowledge of route driving, heavy lifting, moving packages safely, and operating forklifts or pallet jacks is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and perform heavy lifting tasks confidently.
- Previous work as a delivery driver or courier helps build the skills needed for efficient route management and package handling.
