Responsibilities
- Deliver mail and packages to designated rural routes in a timely manner.
- Operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks and manual transmission vehicles.
- Load and unload mail and packages efficiently, utilizing equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks when necessary.
- Ensure accurate delivery by verifying addresses and maintaining organized delivery logs.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks to ensure safe operation.
- Assist with heavy lifting and moving of mail as required during the delivery process.
- Follow all safety protocols while driving and handling mail.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on client satisfaction.
- Previous warehouse experience is beneficial for understanding logistics operations.
- Experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is preferred.
- Proficient in operating box trucks and other delivery vehicles.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks as part of daily responsibilities.
- Familiarity with using forklifts and pallet jacks for loading/unloading tasks.
- Comfortable driving on various routes, including rural areas, with an understanding of route driving practices.
- Experience with manual transmission vehicles is an asset.
