What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Verifier position at USPI?
USPI Medical Park Tower Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Full-Time Insurance Verifier to join our team. We have 5 OR rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in General, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Urology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.
Job Duties:
Validating and entering patient information and insurance coverage into the appropriate computer system.
Verify insurance benefits by reviewing our contract and patient’s quoted benefits.
Determine co-pay.
Post all insurance and billing comments.
Enter all information into the patient accounting system.
Contact patients regarding money due prior to the date of surgery.

Required Skills:
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance verification.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with patients over the phone and in person
- Medical Terminology experience preferred
- Forty-five (45) wpm typing skills required.
- Must have the skills necessary to operate the office equipment required to fulfill job duties.
- Familiar with patient accounting software, especially AdvantX.
- Knowledge of Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
