Duties

  • As a Test Coordinator (Office Automation), you will:
  • Implement all aspects of the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Career Exploration Student Testing Program (STP) in compliance with established requirements.
  • Coordinate ASVAB testing schedules for the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) area of responsibility with school officials
  • Identify need for controlled ASVAB test materials and/or promotional materials.
  • Report ASVAB test results to high schools to facilitate individual and school career planning.
  • Maintain command database of school information within the MEPS area of responsibility.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and documents.

Specialized Experience: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled including: Scheduling events in coordination with multiple organizations; Promoting products and events to improve participation; Conducting briefings to a variety of stakeholders; Conducting periodic inventories and ordering materials/supplies; Compiling data into several automated databases/systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below:

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Management; Business Administration; Education, Marketing, or a field that is directly related to the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).

In order to qualify for this position, based on your education, education substitution, or combination of education and experience, you must have either completed the education requirement, or will complete this requirement within 30 days from the closing date of this announcement.
