Typing Proficiency: In addition to meeting the above qualifications, applicants will need to self-certify their typing proficiency. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
If you are a current, Federal employee, you must include your pay plan, series and grade in your work experience(s) on your resume submission and/or upload supporting documentation (within-grade increase SF50) to show that you meet the time-in-grade requirement. - As a Lead Human Resources Assistant (Military/Office Automation), you will:
- Resolve conflicts that may arise among team members.
- Interview military applicants to gather and verify data for service entry.
- Inform military applicants about required processes and procedures for their branch of service.
- Obtain military applicants' fingerprints to initiate a background investigation.
- Perform quality review of military applicant records, packets, and forms to ensure compliance with all requirements.
- Prepare recruitment and other military personnel documents for individuals enlisting or reenlisting into military service.
- Distribute workload among employees to ensure timely completion.
