Job Summary
The School of Accountancy (SoA) in the College of Business and Economic Development (CBED), University of Southern Mississippi, invites applications for adjunct instructors to teach courses in accounting. Applicants should indicate in their cover letter their area of expertise and teaching interest (i.e. financial, managerial, auditing, tax, etc.).
Candidates may be asked to teach on the Hattiesburg or Gulf Park campus, in a remote delivery format, or online. Adjunct instructors are engaged to teach classes on a class-by-class, semester-by-semester basis.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and deliver courses covering the assigned content and topics.
- Communicate course requirements to students.
- Teach face-to-face, hybrid, and online classes as needed.
- Be available to students enrolled in their class for support and course advising, including exams, required remediation, and summative evaluations.
- Be collaborative with other CBED faculty as well as the Director of the SoA to plan, implement, and evaluate each course offering taught to maintain quality and effectiveness.
- Assign and evaluate assessments required for assurance of learning.
- Follow the policies and procedures of the College of Business and Economic Development, the School of Accountancy, and the University of Southern Mississippi.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
