What are the responsibilities and job description for the Otsego Paper Seasonal Help position at USG Corporation?
Primary Function:
This position is responsible for assisting the Engineering, Finance and Human Resources departments with tasks including but not limited:
Engineering: workspace organization, archiving equipment, structural and process drawings.
Finance: retaining and organizing invoices, purchase orders, and receipts.
Human Resources: supporting employee engagement projects and event coordination.
This position will work closely with each of the above departments in supporting projects aligned with Mill continuous improvement objectives. This role reports, during day shift, directly to the Plant Engineer.
Basic Job Requirements:
Perform all duties with safety in mind and actively participate in all safety programs.
Proficient in using a computer and ability to learn new operating systems. Advanced computer skills (emails, spreadsheets, data entry, etc.) with clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Display competencies: communication, decision making / problem solving, energy, drive, ambition, job knowledge, and work quality.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Open to shift work, weekends, and overtime as required.
Job Procedures and Requirements:
Meet with Plant Engineer to establish document storage and organization system.
Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail. Maintain well organized and accurate records relating to Engineering and Finance.
Assist in the implementation and compliance of all USG model programs, safety rules, CI initiatives, VWI’s and standard operating procedures at Otsego Paper.
Support Employee Engagement Committee in planning and coordination of Mill events.
Able to interpret engineering drawings or willing to learn.
Assist Shared Services Financial Admin with routine duties.
Consult with department managers to aid in methods and system improvements.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
This is a temporary position for a fixed duration.
This role is intended for students to assist with meeting school expenses.
Self-starter, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
Effective verbal and written communication, decision making and people skills, and the ability to work in a diverse workforce environment.
No significant performance/ attendance infractions within the last 36 months.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
