Overview
Schedule: Per Diem Monday-Friday, Evenings Shifts starting at 9:00 PM; Rotating weekends, on- call, and holidays.
Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The primary function for the Ultrasound Technician I is to perform Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound procedures in accordance with established standards of the Radiology Department, and under the supervision of the Radiologist. Must be able to distinguish normal vs abnormal anatomical findings, and demonstrate the ability to record the most appropriate images in order to render the correct interpretation. Medical Sonographer 1 are sonographers having 2 or fewer specialty certifications through ARDMS.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 1 year Ultrasound experience preferred. Pediatric experience of at least 2 years is preferred but not required. Experience in a hosptial setting preferred. Ability to perform diagnostic Medical Sonographic examinations.
Education/Licensure/Certification: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound. ARDMS Certification or eligible for ARDMS license, American Heart Association BLS Certification, certified in 1- 2 specialties.
