Overview
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and motivated Medical Billing Assistant to complement our team. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of medical billing procedures and medical records management. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to efficient revenue cycle processes while supporting high-quality patient care.
Duties
- Prep medical claims accurately using CPT coding, ICD-10 codes to ensure timely reimbursement from insurance providers.
- Review and verify medical records and documentation to support billing and coding accuracy.
- Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and initiating collections when necessary.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to input data, update patient information, and generate reports.
- Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies and improve overall billing workflows.
- CAN BE HYBRID AFTER TRAINING IS COMPLETE
Experience
- Prior experience in medical billing or coding within a healthcare setting is highly preferred, but will train the right person who has medical billing knowledge.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used in medical offices for data entry and record management.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and billing procedures is required.
- Experience with medical collections processes and accounts receivable management is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and compliance standards related to medical billing.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent work ethic, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
