What are the responsibilities and job description for the EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST position at USAJOBS - Search?
You will serve as a EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC WORKS BUSINESS LINE of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.Qualifications:Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Understanding of mechanical equipment principles and concepts as applied to the design, construction, and operation of boiler plants, heating plants, power plants, power plant controls and auxiliary equipment; 2) Understanding of related electric, hydraulic, structural and pneumatic principals as they relate to boilers and unfired pressure vessels; 3) Understanding of inspection, test and evaluation methods, techniques and procedures sufficient to plan, direct and evaluate diverse equipment and systems under various climatic and environmental conditions; 4) Understanding of National Codes and Standards, and published Navy criteria relating to the construction, inspection, maintenance and operation of boilers, pressure vessels, and related equipment systems for which s/he is responsible for evaluation; and 5) Communicating verbally and in writing the evaluation process, inspection procedures, performance requirements, technical improvements/repairs, and operating standards relating to the equipment systems s/he evaluates.
