What are the responsibilities and job description for the Congressional Liaison position at USAJOBS - Search?
This position is located at Office of the Inspector General for Tax Admin, Principal Deputy Inspector General. As a Congressional Liaison, you will serve as a key advisor to agency leadership on legislative and congressional matters, providing strategic counsel and coordinating communications with Members of Congress, congressional committees, and their staff.
Qualifications:You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Assisting with planning, designing and executing a Congressional/Legislative program to convey information on Agency or Organization programs; AND
- Assisting with establishing and maintaining working relationships with congressional committees and staff; AND
- Assisting with agency response to congressional requests and agency participation in congressional hearings pertaining to Agency or Organization's program; AND
- Assisting with monitoring and reporting on pending legislation and keeps informed on all matters affecting agency programs and analyzing new developments for Congressional and Legislative affairs implications.
Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.Education:This job does not have an education qualification requirement.Employment Type: OTHER
