This position will support the Headquarters Space Force (HQSF) S1 office located in the Pentagon, full time. Secret clearance required.
GGE is seeking a skilled professional to provide specialized Congressional Liaison support services to the Headquarters Space Force S1 office at the Pentagon. The ideal candidate will be familiar with military customs and courtesies, possess strong oral and written communication skills, have experience supporting executive-level personnel, and understand government processes, particularly within the DoD. Must have experience supporting Senior Leadership ensuring leadership is aware of congressional taskers, provide recommendations, and understand process of engagements.
Duties
Assist with HQSF Congressional ETMS2 workflow management and associated congressional taskers, including congressional reporting requirements, requests for information, and correspondence
Brief HQSF senior leaders on congressional actions and equities
Prepare HQSF senior leaders for congressional engagements
Coordinate with SAF/LL and SAF/FML on congressional engagements, communications, and actions
Conduct legislative analysis of the annual National Defense Authorization Act and Defense Appropriations bills
Advise HQSF senior leaders on potential impact of defense legislation and other congressional actions on Department of the Air Force and Space Force equities
Prepare read-aheads, talking points, briefing papers, and other products as necessary to support HQSF congressional relations
Represent HQSF at weekly SAF/LL Space Legislative Affairs meetings and Teams calls
Assist with HQSF execution of annual Posture Season activities, including hearing prep sessions, pre-hearing Late Nights, and fielding congressional requests for information (RFIs)
Qualifications:
Prior experience in congressional relations
Prior experience as a congressional staffer (committee professional staff member or Member personal office staff) highly desired
Prior experience in ETMS2 workflow management highly desired
Prior experience with the defense legislative cycle and its impact on DAF and USSF programs, policies, operations
Prior experience in legislative analysis highly desired
Prior experience in clear communication and briefing senior leaders up to and including General Officers
Strong Microsoft Office understanding desired
Strong writing ability highly desired
Security clearance: Secret (Required)
