Product Support Specialist - LED Lighting
USAI Lighting LLC, is a recognized leader in the lighting industry, offering the widest selection of specification grade down lights with an emphasis on quality, innovation and performance. We are an 80 year old privately held company located in the heart of the picturesque Hudson Valley, in New Windsor, New York (90 minutes North of New York City).
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled LED Product Support Specialist to join our customer-focused team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical support, combined with electrical knowledge or experience in the lighting industry. This role is essential to helping our customers and partners troubleshoot, install, and configure our advanced lighting systems.
******Please note that this position DOES NOT involve Information Technology (IT) support.******
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide technical support via phone, email, and video to customers, specifiers, and installers
- Diagnose and troubleshoot lighting system issues, including wiring, controls, dimming, and power configurations
- Interpret wiring diagrams, product specs, and technical documentation to assist clients and internal teams
- Coordinate with engineering and production teams to resolve complex issues
- Log support interactions and follow up on outstanding cases
- Assist in developing knowledge base documentation and support materials
- Support field service calls and remote troubleshooting sessions as needed
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in a technical support, electrical, or lighting-related role
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, low-voltage wiring, or lighting controls
- Familiarity with architectural or commercial lighting products is a strong plus
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret technical documents such as wiring diagrams, specs, and installation guides
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM or ticketing systems
- Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training preferred
