Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Carnegie, PA
Salary/Pay Rate: Up to $80,000 (Pay will commenstrate with experience)
A growing, privately held organization is adding a Staff Accountant to its Finance & Accounting team. This role is ideal for an accountant who wants hands-on exposure to core accounting functions, the month-end close process, and mentorship in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
This position supports experienced accounting leadership and offers meaningful learning opportunities within an operational, people-first culture.
Responsibilities:
- Support Senior Accountants with monthly accounting activities and month-end close
- Assist with preparing and posting journal entries
- Perform balance sheet and account reconciliations under supervision
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Help maintain accurate and complete general ledger records
- Assist with financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation
- Gather documentation to support internal and external audits
- Assist with treasury-related tasks such as bank reconciliations and cash tracking
- Other duties as assigned
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or in progress)
- 2 - 3 years of accounting-related experience preferred
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas; willingness to learn more advanced functions)
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn
- Organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a team environment
Preferred:
- Exposure to accounting software or ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus)
- Interest in pursuing CPA or other professional accounting certifications
