Responsibilities
Provides primary leadership for the Department of Sterile Processing at University Hospital. Leadership to include people leadership, strategic planning for the department, operational excellence, accreditation and regulatory readiness, financial management and quality management; position reports to the Sr. Director of Operations and is a key member of the Perioperative Services leadership team. Scope of the position includes support for 15 ORs, expanding to 22 in the near future, and the needs of University Hospital (300 beds) and associated clinics; plans and directs the activities involved in the acquisition, decontamination, storage, assembly, and cleaning and sterilization of medical, surgical, and related supplies, materials and equipment utilized in the care and treatment of patients; manages Sterile Processing department personnel to achieve established operational and quality goals; schedules and conducts performance evaluations, interviews prospective employees and complete personnel actions, including counseling and terminations as necessary; directs and maintains quality control parameters for sterilization processes and ensures biological/mechanical testing is performed on all cleaning/sterilization equipment throughout the hospital; develop and maintain related policies and procedures; fluent in Joint commission and Association for Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) standards; maintains and monitors inventory levels of supplies and instruments; assists with budget preparation and is accountable for meeting budgetary parameters; provides complete and timely reports and updates on activities and achievements; acts as a resource to Sterile Processing staff and internal customers; ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; adheres to all USA Health policies, procedures, and standards with budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service; promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experiences staff; related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma Required
- Completion of a related clinical program. Required
- 5 years of experience, 3 of which were in a supervisory capacity. Required
- Directly related experience in sterile processing is preferred and will substitute for the required education. Preferred
- Two certifications from HSPA or CBSPD Upon Hire Required
