Responsibilities
- Proficient in all sterile processing department job responsibilities and duties.
- Able to articulate and/or reference the AAMI Standards and Guidelines.
- Responsible for employee work schedules.
- Maintains adequate supply levels to meet departmental needs.
- Provides direct and effective supervision of staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments.
- Responsible for the safe and efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and equipment.
- Performs first review of staff evaluations and provides feedback to manager.
- Directly reports any recalls/failures/wet packs/wet loads to manager in a timely manner.
- Trend and track deficiencies for educational opportunities.
- Competent in the usage of tracking software, such as Censitrac.
- Utilizes proper body mechanics when moving equipment.
- Supplies weighing up to 50lbs and autoclave carts weighing up to 200lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
- Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
- Regular and prompt attendance
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
- Related duties as assigned

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years directly related experience Required
- One certification from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Upon Hire Required
- CRCST - Certified and Registered Central Service Technician within 180 Days Required
- Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
