Sterile Processing Supervisor - Providence Hospital

Responsibilities

• Proficient in all sterile processing department job responsibilities and duties.
• Able to articulate and/or reference the AAMI Standards and Guidelines.
• Responsible for employee work schedules.
• Maintains adequate supply levels to meet departmental needs.
• Provides direct and effective supervision of staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments.
• Responsible for the safe and efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and equipment.
• Performs first review of staff evaluations and provides feedback to manager.
• Directly reports any recalls/failures/wet packs/wet loads to manager in a timely manner.
• Trend and track deficiencies for educational opportunities.
• Competent in the usage of tracking software, such as Censitrac.
• Utilizes proper body mechanics when moving equipment.
• Supplies weighing up to 50lbs and autoclave carts weighing up to 200lbs. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
• Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
• Regular and prompt attendance
• Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years directly related experience Required
• One certification from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Upon Hire Required
• CRCST - Certified and Registered Central Service Technician within 180 Days Required
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
