Gas Station Attendant/Cashier

Duties

• Operate the cash register efficiently, handling all retail sales transactions with accuracy and speed.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product selections.
• Manage cash handling duties including cash drawer balancing, processing payments via POS (Point of Sale) systems, and issuing receipts.
• Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the store displays are clean, appealing, and well-maintained.
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured items, upselling where appropriate to enhance sales.
• Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or providing information to customers over the phone.
• Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking supplies and participating in regular stock counts to ensure product availability.
• Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and ensuring compliance with store standards.
• Engage in basic math calculations for transactions and inventory management to ensure accuracy in all financial dealings.
• Promote safety protocols at all times while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor.

Experience

• Previous retail sales experience is preferred, especially within grocery stores or convenience retail environments.
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is highly desirable.
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership skills in team settings.
• Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving a diverse customer base effectively.
• Experience in grocery store operations or retail math will help you excel in this role.
• Strong communication skills coupled with excellent phone etiquette will enable you to connect confidently with customers.
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge and merchandising techniques will support your success in this position.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
