We are seeking a fully bilingual Project Assistant (English/Spanish) to work directly alongside the Project Superintendent on active construction sites. This role serves as both an administrative and field support position, with a strong emphasis on real-time communication and translation between management and Spanish-speaking field crews. The ideal candidate is fluent in conversational English and Spanish, including construction terminology and jobsite communication. This person must be comfortable handling sensitive conversations, translating during high-pressure situations, and maintaining professionalism in fast-paced construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct daily support to the Project Superintendent
• Translate verbal and written communication between English-speaking management and Spanish-speaking field crews
• Interpret construction-related conversations, instructions, safety discussions, and operational meetings accurately and professionally
• Assist with crew assessments, performance discussions, corrective actions, disciplinary conversations, and other sensitive personnel matters
• Take detailed field notes and document project progress, system installations, and daily activities
• Assist with tracking production, manpower, and project milestones
• Help coordinate communication between field personnel, subcontractors, and project leadership
• Maintain organized project documentation and reports
• Support Superintendent with miscellaneous administrative and field duties as needed
• Observe and promote jobsite safety standards and professional conduct
Qualifications
• Fully bilingual in English and Spanish with strong verbal communication skills in both languages
• Ability to understand and translate conversational Spanish used within the construction industry, including tools, equipment, materials, and installation terminology
• Previous experience in construction, field operations, or construction administration preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective during high-stress or confrontational situations
• Comfortable participating in sensitive discussions and translating difficult conversations accurately and professionally
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced construction environment
• Proficient with basic computer skills, documentation, and note-taking
• Comfortable working outdoors and on active construction sites
