Electrical Quality Control - Long Term

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Electrical Quality Technician to inspect and verify electrical control panels before they leave the panel shop. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early-career experience in electrical work, instrumentation, industrial controls, or panel building who wants to develop their skills in electrical quality assurance.

The Electrical Quality Technician will review completed panels against electrical drawings, identify wiring or installation issues, document deficiencies, and work with panel shop personnel to ensure each unit meets project and quality requirements before shipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform final inspections of electrical panels and control enclosures before shipment.
• Compare completed panels against electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of material, and project specifications.
• Verify wire routing, wire labeling, terminations, device placement, and component installation.
• Identify incorrect wiring, loose connections, missing components, damaged materials, and installation deficiencies.
• Confirm that electrical devices and components are installed in the correct locations and according to applicable drawings.
• Document inspection results and clearly communicate required corrections to panel shop personnel.
• Reinspect corrected work to verify that deficiencies have been properly resolved.
• Maintain accurate and organized quality inspection records.
• Learn and consistently follow the company’s panel inspection and quality-control processes.
• Work cooperatively with electricians, panel builders, supervisors, engineers, and other quality personnel.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Perform additional quality or panel shop duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Two to four years of experience in electrical construction, instrumentation, industrial controls, electrical panel building, or a related field.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Working knowledge of electrical components, wiring methods, terminations, and device installation.
• Ability to recognize wiring errors, installation problems, and work that does not match the applicable drawing.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn established inspection procedures and quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow instructions, accept feedback, and communicate identified issues professionally.
• Basic computer and documentation skills are preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience building, wiring, testing, or inspecting electrical control panels.
• Familiarity with industrial instrumentation, programmable logic controller panels, motor-control panels, or automation systems.
• Experience using electrical testing equipment is a plus.
• Technical training in electrical systems, instrumentation, industrial maintenance, or a related discipline is preferred.
