Welding Requirements
All candidates must successfully pass project-specific pipe welding tests using:
- SMAW – Shielded Metal Arc Welding
- GTAW – Gas Tungsten Arc Welding
Welders must be able to produce quality welds that meet project specifications, inspection requirements, and applicable welding procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous industrial pipe welding experience
- Experience working in industrial construction, module fabrication, shipyard, refinery, petrochemical, LNG, or similar heavy-industrial environments
- Proficiency with SMAW and GTAW pipe welding processes
- Ability to read and follow welding procedures, drawings, specifications, and fit-up requirements
- Ability to work safely and productively in a fast-paced fabrication yard
- Willingness and ability to work approximately 60 hours per week
- Dependable transportation to the Ingleside worksite
- Must reside within 60 miles of Ingleside, TX
- Must meet all project safety, screening, and onboarding requirements
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform GTAW and SMAW welding on industrial piping systems
- Complete welds according to approved welding procedures and project specifications
- Inspect pipe preparation, fit-up, alignment, and cleanliness before welding
- Identify and correct welding defects or workmanship concerns
- Maintain welding equipment and work areas
- Follow all site safety policies, quality standards, and production requirements
- Work cooperatively with pipefitters, foremen, quality personnel, and other fabrication team members
