US Trades is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Technician to support conveyor system installations through quality checks, installation audits, and verification of mechanical work. This role is ideal for a mechanically skilled technician who understands proper installation practices and can identify inconsistencies or deficiencies in conveyor and material handling systems. The Mechanical Technician will work closely under the direction of the Mechanical Supervisor, learning system standards and installation expectations while progressively taking on more responsibility as knowledge and experience grow.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform installation audits and quality checks on conveyor and material handling systems
• Verify mechanical installations against drawings, specifications, and established installation standards
• Identify correct versus incorrect installation practices and report findings to the Mechanical Supervisor
• Ensure consistency and quality are maintained throughout all phases of installation
• Review drawings and layouts to confirm components are installed correctly and in the proper locations
• Document findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions as required
• Work alongside the Mechanical Supervisor to learn system design, installation requirements, and quality expectations
• Apply learned system knowledge to proactively support installation quality as the role develops
• Support coordination between installation crews and supervision as needed
Required Qualifications
• Experience with mechanical system installations, preferably conveyor or material handling systems
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and layouts
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable installation practices
• Willingness to learn and grow under supervision in a quality-focused role
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience auditing or inspecting mechanical installations
• Familiarity with conveyor components, drive systems, rollers, motors, and structural supports
• Experience working in industrial, warehouse, or distribution center environments
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Active construction and installation environments
• Ability to walk job sites, climb stairs or ladders, and stand for extended periods
• May require lifting, bending, and working in elevated or confined areas
