What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resource Generalist position at US Salt?
US Salt is looking for a Human Resource Generalist at our Watkins Glen facility.
Essential job duties and responsibilities:
· Help with streamlining payroll processes by helping to implement time clocks within the facility to reduce current paper timecards and redundant administration task.
· Help with the implementing an applicant tracking system to help recruit top talent for salary and union jobs.
· Help with the implementation of HR tools to be used by managers, supervisor and employees within our current HRIS system (e.g., people review, objectives, performance management)
· Facilitates communication among staff, management, external partners to collect information and solve employment related matters (e.g., benefits, 401K, payroll matters, self-service tools for employees)
· Help out with the overseeing of data integrity and reporting to support the business and provide a robust view of people metrics related to hiring, separations, diversity & inclusion, and help out with workforce planning needs.
· Accountable to assess levels of support needed on people practices and create written guides, procedural manuals, on-demand e-Learning or other resources for employees, managers, and specialized partners (e.g., payroll, site administrators, etc.)
· Help out with company policies related to employment; ensures compliance with Federal, State, and other guidelines. Responsible to communicate, post, train others, and manage policies fairly and consistently to all US Salt locations.
Desired qualifications & skills:
· Excellent research, communication, content creation and program management skills.
· Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving root cause issues to improve employee performance, employee engagement, employee surveys and drive results.
· Outstanding listening skills excels at finding compromise and implementing win-win solutions in conflict situations with managers, supervisors, union, and vendors.
· Strong subject-matter expertise on employment law and regulatory issues, current on human resources trends, best practices, and high-impact, cost effective practices to drive systems to move away from paper process.
· Experience with MS Office Suite
· Significant exposure and usage of HRIS systems such as UKG, SAP, PeopleSoft, etc.
· 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a manufacturing facility
