What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic - 2nd & 3rd Shift position at US Salt?
Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have a welding certificate or similar documented education.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year - documented industrial maintenance experience or education.
- Must demonstrate ability to read OEM prints.
- Must demonstrate practical knowledge of power transmissions, conveyors, belting, pneumatics, lubrication, and overall facility equipment.
- Must be willing and flexible enough to work any shift and overtime when business requires.
- Must demonstrate basic computer skills.
- Displays a positive attitude and be an active contributor to the teamwork concept.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Performs various Maintenance mechanical work, such as, but not limited to, repairing and lubricating machinery, as well as changing parts.
- Performs routine and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of machines and equipment.
- Assess machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
- Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
- Uses power tools and different hand tools to complete assigned maintenance tasks.
- Operates oxyacetylene torch, plasma cutter, and other various shop equipment as required.
- Applies welding techniques to structural and pipe.
- Collaborates with department managers on shop modifications or alterations to machinery and implements accordingly.
- Works closely with other departments and may be asked to perform miscellaneous tasks such as, but not limited to, housekeeping and safety initiatives.
