Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras to detect suspicious activity and ensure perimeter security.
- Control access points using security protocols and access control systems, verifying identities of visitors, contractors, and staff.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential security breaches or hazards.
- Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security breaches, following established procedures.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting any unusual activities, accidents, or security concerns for record-keeping and future reference.
- Perform background checks on visitors or contractors as required to ensure compliance with security policies.
- Assist with loss prevention efforts by observing for theft or vandalism and intervening appropriately while maintaining conflict de-escalation techniques.
Skills
- Strong surveillance skills with experience operating CCTV systems and conducting visual inspections.
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures, emergency response protocols, and fire safety regulations.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or incident management.
- Excellent communication skills for conflict management, customer service interactions, and report writing.
- Familiarity with access control systems and physical security measures such as patrolling routes and perimeter checks.
- Basic first aid certification (CPR/AED) and familiarity with emergency response procedures.
