Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine phlebotomy procedures according to established procedures and policies.
- Follow assigned schedule and work procedures.
- Collect, receive, identify, and label specimens following quality assurance and safety policies.
- Collect specimens for off-site testing and research.
- Perform port draws and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures as needed.
- Perform Glucometer testing and accurately record patient results and QC each day of use.
- Organize and prioritize multiple work needs/duties.
- Clean and maintain work areas.
- Monitor supply inventory.
- Work additional hours as requested.
- Communicate effectively with office staff, patients, physicians, and external contacts.
- Travel to outside clinics as needed or requested.
- Perform all other duties as requested or required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- One year of phlebotomy experience
- ASCP or other approved professional association certification preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification preferred
Preferred Skills
- Skilled in both straight sticks and butterfly draws
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport with patients in a clinical setting
- Previous hospital or oncology experience is a plus

Requires corrected vision, color perception and hearing to normal range. Requires legible handwriting.
