The Business Operations Manager serves as the assigned organization(s)' principal operations expert, responsible for providing operational management and administrative leadership and supporting strategic planning and policy activities related to organizational operations. The incumbent oversees relevant activities and support staff in the areas of strategic human capital management, business operations management and oversight, financial management, and resource allocation.

Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 Level overseeing business operations functions, including oversight of human capital and financial resources, for an organization.Examples of specialized experience include:
- Allocating both human and financial resources
- Establishing and implementing effective administrative and business processes for an organization
- Advising on staffing and recruitment activities
- Advising on and supporting budget justification, formulation, and execution process
Responsibilities:
As a Business Operations Manager, you will perform the following duties:- Strategic Planning and Policy Management: Develop strategic plans, provide policy recommendations, and advise senior leadership on resource allocation and budget options. Serves on NSF wide working groups related to policy, liaison to other organizations, etc.
- Human Capital Management: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and human resources activities to ensure effective use of human resources and compliance with regulations. Serves as key human capital advisor to leadership.
- Financial Management and Resource Allocation: Manage organizational budgets, forecast resource needs, analyze financial data, and ensure compliance with NSF policies. Aligns budget with operational needs.
- Business Operations, Analysis, and Management: Identify, assess and implement efficient business processes, oversee contracts, financial reporting, and internal controls, and manage organizational resources.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Plan, assign, and review work, evaluate employee performance, provide training, and address employee development and administrative matters.
- Other duties as assigned.
