About The Opportunity The Baler Operator shreds corrugated waste and butt rolls. This person will pick up waste at the machine centers throughout the plant. The Baler Operator changes baler wire using fixture and overhead cranes. This person also separates poly bales, properly marks them, and loads them into trucks. Essential Functions 1. Replace baler wire as needed 2. Check machine centers and prioritize scrap 3. Weigh scrap and make out scrap ticket 4. Repair or assist maintenance in the repair of machine as necessary 5. Load trucks for poly bales 6. Load trucks/rail cars with scrap 7. Ensure quality is a work priority by being attentive to detail and accuracy, and actively seeking work process improvements— quality is the responsibility of all employees 8. Operate a forklift and follow appropriate forklift procedures 9. Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner 2. Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business 3. Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed 4. Ability to effectively work in teams 5. Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people 6. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles 7. Must not be afraid of heights 8. Ability to read a tape measure/ruler 9. Good mathematical skills Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Pay Rate: Training $ 26.03 Qualified $ 27.93 Work Hours 3-2-2-3 Schedule (M, T, F, S, S, W, T, repeat) 6pm to 6am Two companies, one vision.
