This role ensures that all products meet or exceed customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and company standards. The Quality Manager drives a culture of continuous improvement, defect prevention, and operational excellence while supporting production, engineering, and supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 and relevant industry standards.
- Lead QA and QC activities, including inspections, audits, testing, and process monitoring.
- Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects and improve product reliability.
- Manage nonconformance processes, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure new processes and products meet quality standards.
- Oversee supplier quality management, including supplier audits and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards applicable to solar manufacturing.
- Train and mentor quality staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in solar, electronics, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001, quality tools (FMEA, SPC, APQP, PPAP), and root cause analysis methods.
- Strong understanding of IEC/UL 61215, 61370 requirements
- Proven ability to lead cross functional teams and influence without direct authority.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in quality management software and MS Office applications.
- Reduction in product defects and returns.
- Ontime completion of quality audits and corrective actions.
- Supplier quality performance improvement.
- Achievement of production quality targets and customer satisfaction scores.
- Implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience in renewable energy or solar panel manufacturing.
- Certified Manager of Quality/Operational Excellence (CMQ/OE)
- Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, or equivalent certification.
- Knowledge of environmental and safety standards specific to solar manufacturing.
- Onsite at a solar manufacturing facility with exposure to production areas, equipment, and materials handling.
- Must adhere to safety policies and wear required PPE.
