The selectee serves as a Physical Security Specialist responsible for directing national physical security programs, including the deployment and maintenance of countermeasures (e.g., video surveillance systems, access control, intrusion detection) throughout over 800 judicial facilities nationwide while leading a team of Physical Security Specialists, ensuring the protection of judicial personnel, assets, and facilities.

Qualifications:
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit Promotion applicants must provide an SF50 Notice of Personnel Action that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF50 must include the position, title, series, grade, step, tenure, type of service (Competitive or Excepted) and career status (career or career-conditional). No award SF50 will be accepted as proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility.- One year at the GS-13 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 grade level.

- Planning and conducting the evaluation of physical security programs for judicial facilities;
- Managing competing program priorities for a team performing physical security installations and maintenance to ensure security for judicial facilities;
- Evaluating contract offers to ensure technical requirements are set forth in specifications with the Statement of Work and Services; and
- Providing advice, guidance, and assistance to management and lower level employees regarding physical security selection, installation, or maintenance projects.
Responsibilities:
As a Supervisory Physical Security Specialist at the GS-0080-14 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following:- Manage a team of Physical Security Specialists, whose duties include responsibility for conducting initial and continual follow-up remote and on-site court security inspections.
- Advise leadership on the selection, application, and sustainment of physical security systems and equipment for U.S. Judicial facilities.
- Provide contract management for the nationwide security systems contractors who are responsible for the installation, repair, maintenance and service of electronic security systems.
- Represent USMS at conferences, meetings, and conducts training.
- Establish policy, standards and best practices for USMS in the application and maintenance of security systems and equipment.
