Role Description
This is a full-time role for an experienced, hands-on, multi task, detail oriented, personable Controller, based in South Florida. The Controller will oversee all financial operations for all marinas including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations. Responsibilities include managing accounting records, preparing financial statements for property owners, handling audits, and identifying opportunities for cost reductions and financial growth. The role also involves collaborating with management to support strategic planning and operational decisions.
Duties include:
- Closing books each month for all marinas and providing financial reports for each property owner as well as to US Marina Group management
- Prepare balance sheets, income statements and other financial documents
- Overseeing Payroll including 7 US-based properties and 2 outside the US.
- HR management
- Overseeing insurance, workers' compensation, etc.
- Preparation of local, state and federal tax filings and other required licenses and filings
- Maintain all accounting records, including the general ledger, payroll and taxes
- Responsible for all accounts payable and supervising billings and accounts receivable for each property.
- Continuously develop internal controls to improve accuracy
- Onboarding new marinas as they develop
- Oversee all bank reconciliations and managing cash flow
- Leading internal and external audits
Qualifications
- Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Knowledge of accounting principles and experience with audits, payroll, and tax compliance
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Expertise in financial software and tools, as well as Microsoft Excel
- Effective written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in the marina, maritime, or hospitality industry is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
- Some travel to marina sites both in and out of Florida, Panama and Caribbean Ability to balance remote work with on-site responsibilities
- Bi-lingual ability in Spanish is useful

Compensation: Salary range from $80k - $110k plus benefits, bonus
