What You'll Be Doing
Scheduling & Dispatch
- Manage daily dispatching and crew scheduling; coordinate job assignments for maximum efficiency and coverage
- Serve as the central decision-maker for dispatch-related issues and day-to-day operational priorities
Operations & Safety
- Lead safety meetings, compliance tracking, PPE distribution, and incident management
- Review daily reports — JHAs, DOT logs, DVIRs, and pre-trip inspections
- Review and approve daily work orders; ensure permits, locates, and job documentation are completed
Financial Performance
- Track job-level financial performance: revenue, cost, and profitability
- Audit work order accuracy and partner with the Administrator to resolve billing discrepancies
- Monitor production against contract expectations
Team & Workforce Management
- Own workforce planning and staffing decisions,
- Lead hiring decisions in coordination with Field Operations
- Set and communicate daily and weekly priorities and goals
- Partner with the Field Ops Supervisor and Director of Operations on staffing changes, escalations, and high-risk jobs
What You'll Need for Success
- Leadership experience within construction, excavation, or a related industry
- Prior experience in dispatching, scheduling, or coordinating field operations strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret job plans, contracts, and technical documentation
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting labor and equipment needs, and tracking productivity metrics
- Proficiency with office and project management software (CRM, Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
- A confident, accountable leader who makes sound decisions under pressure
- Effective communicator — equally comfortable on the phone with field crews and in front of customers
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Physical Demand Requirements
This role is primarily office-based with occasional fieldwork on active construction sites. You should be able to sit for extended periods, navigate outdoor job sites, lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally, and work in varying weather conditions during site visits.
