Purpose of the Position:
The Warehouse Operations Director is responsible for overseeing and improving the productivity and efficiency of the warehouse team. This strategic role includes managing staff, ensuring compliance with procedures, and fostering a collaborative environment. The Warehouse Operations Director will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring accurate inventory control.

Main Functions:

• Staff Management: Oversee recruitment, training, and scheduling of warehouse staff, fostering a team-oriented environment. Supervise daily activities, providing guidance and support as needed. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
• Operational Efficiency: Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes, emphasizing continuous improvement and cost reduction. Identify and implement strategies for improving warehouse productivity and efficiency.
• Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and minimizing excess. Monitor and analyze productivity data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to all safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct regular safety audits and implement efficient layout and storage systems. Promote a culture of safety by conducting regular safety audits, training sessions, and drills.
• Administrative Functions: Maintain documentation and accurate records of warehouse activities. Implement operational policies and procedures. Ensure adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
• Security Operations: Implement and oversee security operations to protect warehouse assets and ensure the safety of staff.
• Equipment Management: Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment, maintaining assets in optimal condition.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including logistics, customer service, and supply chain management, to optimize warehouse processes and meet customer demands. Act as a liaison between the warehouse team and the front office.
• Performance Reporting: Generate regular reports on warehouse performance, including productivity, inventory accuracy, and process efficiency.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with direct reports and other stakeholders to analyze warehouse workflows and identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks. Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
• Collaboration and Team Building: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, encouraging teamwork, collaboration, and open communication among all staff members. Recognize and reward employee contributions and achievements to boost morale and engagement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Directly supervise the Receiving, Inventory, and Shipping Leads, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations for direct reports and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
• Assist in the recruitment, training, and onboarding of new warehouse employees.
• Ensure ongoing training and development opportunities for all warehouse staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
• Step in to perform shipping and receiving tasks during periods of high demand or when the team is short-staffed.
• Address and resolve conflicts or issues within the team professionally and promptly.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in warehouse management.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team building and collaboration.
• Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP software.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to thrive in both dynamic and highly structured environments, adapting quickly to changing situations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring precision in operations.
• Experience in high-pressure situations with a focus on mission accomplishment.
• Background in managing structured environments with a disciplined approach.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
