Duties
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop precise estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to create detailed cost proposals.
- Collaborate with the sales team to review bid strategies and optimize pricing approaches.
- Conduct site visits and review construction site conditions to inform accurate cost assessments.
- Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Prepare comprehensive bid packages, including detailed breakdowns of costs, schedules, and materials.
- Assist in contract review and ensure estimates align with contractual obligations and project requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with familiarity in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and related software tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, including site management, contracts, and project management principles.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
- Construction site experience is highly desirable to understand on-the-ground realities influencing estimates.
- Solid understanding of cost control techniques and pricing strategies within the construction industry.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
