Revenue Accountant Position Overview: The Revenue Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely recognition of revenue in compliance with accounting standards. This position will involve preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, analysis for trends/reasonableness, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure proper revenue recognition practices.
Revenue Accountant Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Prepare journal entries related to revenue recognition and ensure all transactions are reflected correctly in the general ledger.
- Perform reconciliations of revenue-related accounts, such as deferred revenue, unearned revenue, and accounts receivable.
- Provide timely and accurate revenue reports to management and assist with financial statement preparation.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Perform month-end closing activities, including preparation of various journal entries, monthly allocations and variance analyses.
- Perform analysis and assist with special projects as requested by CFO and Controller.
- Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
Revenue Accountant Required Education, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred
- At least five years of related experience is required
- Proficient Microsoft Excel knowledge and skills
- Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team player with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Ability to interface with different levels and functions of the organization as well as external auditors
- High degree of attention to detail
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
Revenue Accountant Work Environment:
