Job Title: Parts Finisher / Laser Department
Department: Fabrication / Laser
Reports To: Plant Manager
Shift: First Shift
Starting Pay: $20.00/hour
Summary
The Parts Finisher is responsible for cleaning and preparing laser-cut metal parts by removing oxidation, dross, and other imperfections using wire wheels and sanding discs. Candidates should have previous manufacturing experience such as a weld helper, grinder, or parts finisher, along with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to learn independently. This role offers advancement opportunities into machine operator positions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Remove oxidation and dross from laser-cut parts using wire wheels, sanding discs, and other finishing tools.
- Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality standards before moving to the next operation.
- Safely operate hand and power tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Support other production departments as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a weld helper, grinder, parts finisher, or similar manufacturing role preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable attendance and positive work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
Pay: $20.00 per hour
