This role will report directly to the Director of Maintenance.The Maintenance Mechanic must possess 3-5 years of experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting. Will be responsible for supporting the daily production activities by installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment in a manufacturing environment. Conducts periodic safety and maintenance inspections to evaluate equipment for replacement and identify wear and damage. Uses technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to install, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair equipment, engines, and compressors.Will possess an exceptional knowledge of tools and equipment repair. Should know and understand the flow of the plant and identify priorities accordingly. Troubleshooting breakdowns, as well as performing tasks through our work order system. Must be able to communicate with supervisors regarding repair times and arranging scheduled repairs in that department. Must have the ability to communicate with all department supervisors and personnel to find, diagnose and repair problems timely and efficiently. Required to perform all jobs safely, efficiently, and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of safety, quality, and equipment reliability.Required experience must include:Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and PLC controlled equipment.Ability to use a multi-meter to test and troubleshoot 24 VDC, 120 VAC, and 480VAC 3 phase power circuits.Experience in multi-craft mechanical and electrical.Ability to troubleshoot various types of automated manufacturing equipment.Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and parts specifications.Experience and/or training in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Understand and troubleshoot 3 phase motor controls.Ability to cut and weld steel is preferred.Install, diagnose, and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of industrial machinery and equipment.Changing bearings, sheaves, sprockets, belts.Cutting and weldingRoller chain repairChanging cam followersDrilling out of boltsChasing and or tapping holesChanging hardwareBasic Hydraulic knowledgeBasic knowledge of Pneumatic cylinders and controlWork at heights safelyThe required skills and education to be successful:High school or equivalent requiredAble to perform various forms of physical labor (i.e lifting 70 lbs/standing)Read calibrator, write, speak English and basic math to record data correctly.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Committed to working in a zero-harm workplace.Able to work flexible hours when needed.Follow all safety, quality, production, environmental policies, and procedures.Be a good team member, assisting others as needed in a helpful way.Contribute to team effort by performing other assigned duties as needed. We offer a total compensation package to include:Competitive PayMedical, Dental, and VisionCompany paid Basic Life, Short Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability401kPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysWork is performed primarily in a standard manufacturing setting.Production facilities are not climate controlled, and work is outdoors and indoors in all types of weather conditions and work environments.While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand for extended lengths of time (i.e. flagging operations), walk, sit for extended lengths of time (i.e. operating equipment), drive, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, grasp, hold, and manipulate tools; talk and hear. The employee is routinely required to climb (i.e. ladders and stairs) and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or stand on tip toes for extended lengths of time, and must routinely lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds alone, and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus with or without ocular aids. The employee must be able to work in variable temperatures and weather conditions and near traffic with varying noise levels and with varying types of equipment and vehicles. The employee must have the ability to work around and tolerate heat and dust.While performing the duties of this job the incumbent is regularly exposed to outside elements of wet and/or humid conditions, rain, and heat; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles. Requires the ability to work outdoors in all weather.
