Videos Duties Help Serves as the Assistant to the Aquatics/Wellness Program Manager responsible for the daily operation and supervision of the Aquatics Department. Assists in coordinating and administering aquatic training/ recertification curriculum to include lifeguarding, lifeguard instructor, and other safety and recreational training. Develops after-action reports of programs when required and assist with ensuring completion of safety incident reports. Assist with the arrangement of equipment, supplies and services needed to accomplish assigned functions, under the direction of the Aquatics/Wellness Program Manager Makes recommendations for repairs/improvements and training in order to meet all department needs. A one year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must be willing to complete a pre-employment physical and immunizations. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. An undergraduate or graduate degree in related fields such as Physical Education, Kinesiology, Sports Administration/ Management, or Recreation may be substituted for twelve (12) months work experience. ( This experience may have been gained in an indoor or outdoor environment working with recreational programs, events, and/ or facilities.) 2. Possesses and maintains the following certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED. 3. Possesses demonstrated experience in planning and executing aquatic or recreational programs/ events. 4. Possess demonstrated experience in leading or supervising aquatics or recreation staff. The following certification must be obtained within 6 months of appointment: Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification. O2 Administration certification (Red Cross or installation offered training). Highly preferred candidates will be referred to management first. In addition to meeting the above qualifications, highly preferred is defined as also meeting all of the criteria listed below: 1. Prior experience with the RecTrac Software and retail sales/inventory. 2. Possess a current Lifeguard Instructor Trainer certificate and/or Water Safety Instructor Trainer certificate. * If you are using education to qualify for this position, a copy of your unofficial transcripts must be uploaded at the time of application. * All professional certifications must be received at the time of application.
