What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recruiter position at URS Group?
The Recruiter identifies, qualifies, and instills interest from professional truck drivers, car haulers, and heavy equipment mechanics to join the United Road team. This position is responsible for initiating and building relationships with qualified personnel to entice them to join our company as an employee or contractor. This position requires a self-motivated professional with a strong work ethic who has the ability to aggressively and consistently pursue new candidates for employment through telephone, electronic, and face-to-face recruiting efforts. A successful Recruiter will have a unique ability to interact with professional drivers and possess the ability to help them understand the benefits of joining our company and motivate them to do so.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Effectively communicate to candidates all of the benefits of joining our company
- Build relationships with prospective candidates to ascertain their qualifications, understand their needs and tailor a recruiting message to each individual
- Work closely with Operational or Maintenance staff and the Safety Department in the qualification of driver and mechanic candidates
- Answer Recruiting phone line or chat function quickly, consistently and professionally
- Make regular and consistent follow-up communications to identified candidates
- Seek and follow direct leads from current driver base and any other appropriate means
- Enter accurate and thorough notes in Applicant Tracking System at every step in the process
- Be knowledgeable about compensation and benefit packages for each position and within each region
- Collect all necessary items in the application process (including, but not limited to: application, background checks, previous employment verifications etc.)
- Order and review all background checks
- Schedule interviews for candidates with terminal or shop management
- Schedule orientation for new hires
- Be able to thrive in a team environment while achieving individual goals
- Accountable to achieve quotas as assigned by the Manager of Driver Recruiting
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- College degree preferred, or at least 2 years of experience in transportation and logistics
