What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Office Receptionist position at Urology Surgical Center?
Nebraska Urology is looking for a Medical Office Receptionist to greet and check in patients and visitors, provides routine information and schedule appointments, and other clerical office duties including but not limited to completing disability and FMLA forms, outbound medical records and entering patient demographics.
Job Duties include:
· Accepts and records patient co-payments while maintaining balanced cash drawer.
·Greets and registers patients, visitors and salespeople at the window in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Ensures accurate billing and insurance information is entered into the computer.
· Assists with registering patients, updating patient records, and receiving payments for service provided.
· Sends new patient forms via mail or patient portal when appointment is made.
· Schedules appointments, cancels and reschedules appointments as directed.
· Monitors visitor access and issues passes when required. Oversees reception area and report problems or irregularities.
· Screens visitors (i.e. pharmaceutical representatives and sales people), respond to routine request for information/services and/or direct visitors to appropriate medical staff. Schedules lunches for pharmaceutical representatives.
· Tracks all patients who were “No Shows” for appointments, creates alerts and sets recalls when necessary.
· Directs patients in filling out record request forms and disability forms.
· Maintains cash sheet by recording payments and daily balances of the cash drawer.
· Calls FedEx or UPS to arrange pick-ups, also take care of packages that arrive from UPS or FedEx.
· Post mail and take out daily at 10:30.
· Call for interpreters in advance of appointments if scheduled an appointment.
· Enrolls patients in patient portal.
· Maintain the pharmaceutical reps scheduling meals.
· Uses text message system according to protocol.
· Maintains information in a confidential manner.
Preferred to have a high school diploma and some related work experience.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
