Medical Receptionist
Urology Specialists of Ohio is seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team. The Medical Receptionist is often the first point of contact for our patients and plays an important role in creating a positive, professional patient experience.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a busy medical office, enjoys helping people, and can manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Check patients in and out for appointments
- Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and contact information
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct calls appropriately
- Assist patients with questions and general requests
- Collect copayments, balances, and other patient payments
- Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record
- Obtain and update insurance information and identification
- Prepare and maintain patient charts and documentation
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff, providers, and other departments
- Follow established office procedures and workflows
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
- Assist with other front-office duties as needed
Qualifications
- Previous medical office or healthcare experience preferred
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Professional and compassionate manner when interacting with patients
- Comfortable using computers and learning electronic medical record systems
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
