You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. As a Scrub Tech, you will be responsible for providing support to ensure efficient operation of our outpatient center. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures
- Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms
- Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning
- Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique
- Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images
- Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal
- May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys
- Ensures effective communication with physicians
- Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes
Required License/Experience/Skills
- Proven working experience as a surgical technologist
- Proficient in maintaining a sterile field
- Experienced in scrubbing in for surgical procedures
- Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations
- Working knowledge of interventional equipment
- High school diploma
- Valid BLS Certification
- Surgical technologist experience: 1 year
- ARRT / CST Certification
